“Design and prototype an open-source, DIY plant protein extractor to bridge protein demand deficits at present or in catastrophes”.

What is the project all about?

A low-cost, modular protein purification device that can be fabricated using readily available materials.

To maximize its distribution in developing countries; this device requires low operation and maintenance skills.

This device empowers individuals and local communities around the world to have direct ownership and control of their food safety.

Joshua Pearce in a joint interview with Tiberius Brastaviceanu

A Plant Protein Extractor device, when fully developed, will make it possible to produce edible food from leaves, which humans cannot consume directly. My hope is that with this device we will not only be able to make humanity more resilient in the face of food supply catastrophes but also provide a means to make low-cost nutritional food to help mitigate the current challenges of hunger and malnutrition
